I originally intended Shaping the Self to be a Dragon Magazine article, and when I ended up developing it into a book instead, I knew it would have to be longer. I initially intended to expand it by added racial levels for the various subraces of the Player's Handbook races, but about a month from release, I realized how staggeringly boring a book that would be, and spruced it up with alternate racial development paths. If your game makes use of the more diverse races, these rules are still available for you to enjoy!
